Alumni Spotlight: Honoring 25 Years of Service and a Life Built on Faith!
Jay Dyal, a proud graduate of Trinity Christian Academy's Class of 1995, has built a distinguished career in public service and business. In 2001, he joined the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office as a police officer, where he has dedicated himself to protecting and serving his community. Rising through the ranks, he was promoted to Sergeant in 2013. With retirement planned for March 2026 after 25 years of service, Jay looks forward to focusing on his businesses, The Deck Guys and Six Mile Fishing Co., and spending cherished time with his wife, Kristen, and their children, Hannah and Hank. The family shares a love for hunting and watching Hank play baseball, as well as cheering on Hannah as she pursues her degree in construction management and starts her own small business.
Jay’s time at TCA was foundational in shaping his faith and values. Reflecting on his education, he attributes his lasting conviction in putting God first to TCA’s Christian-based curriculum. The simple practice of beginning each class in prayer made a profound impact on him, reinforcing the belief that faith aligns everything to God's will. Today, he values that same Christian foundation as it influences his children’s lives.
One of Jay’s favorite memories from TCA was playing football, where the camaraderie and determination built by Coach Dorminey and Coach Danny Andrews left an indelible mark. He recalls a powerful pre-game devotion from Coach Andrews on the story of David and Goliath, highlighting the importance of being a "finisher." This mindset, instilled by his coaches, has carried forward into Jay's personal and professional life. Looking back, he feels grateful for the life lessons learned at TCA, where he not only found his faith but learned what it meant to persevere and finish well.
