Trinity Christian Academy Welcomes Christian Terrell as Head Basketball Coach 

We are excited to introduce Christian Terrell as our new Boys’ Basketball Head Coach.

Terrell is a Jacksonville native who set playing records locally as a student athlete and went on to build a career that spans championship-level competition, professional play overseas, and Division I coaching. Now, he brings that full range of experience to the TCA community.

 

A Résumé Built on Winning

Among his athletic achievements, Terrell led his Providence High School team to a State Championship, earned multiple conference championships, made NCAA Tournament appearances, and played professionally overseas. Most recently, he spent two seasons on staff with Jacksonville University Men's Basketball, focused on player development, program operations, recruiting support, and Division I program management.

"Coach Terrell has an excellent vision for building a program, and he has the skillset to execute that vision,"

said Athletic Director Coach Murphy.

 

A Coach Who Develops the Whole Player

Coach Terrell’s passion and energy extend beyond the court as well. Known as a “leader of young men,” and for his ability to connect with players, he approaches coaching as more than strategy – it’s about shaping character.

Terrell brings:

• A genuine commitment to player development, on and off the court
• A championship culture rooted in accountability and hard work

“I am looking forward to Coach Terrell establishing himself as head coach and building on the foundation laid by Coach Willis,”

said Coach Murphy.

Coach Cliff Willis leaves behind a strong program built on hard work and dedication, and we are grateful to have had him as a part of the TCA family.

 

Growing the TCA Family

The family is growing in more ways than one. Terrell and his wife Lauren recently welcomed their daughter, Tatum, and they are excited to begin this next chapter together at TCA.

“This opportunity means a lot to me,” Terrell said. “Jacksonville basketball helped shape my life, and I’m excited to build something special at Trinity Christian Academy, both on and off the court.”
