Alumni Spotlight: Amanda Bunk-Sizemore, Class of 2001
Amanda Bunk-Sizemore, a proud member of Trinity Christian Academy’s Class of 2001, has taken her foundation from TCA and turned it into a flourishing career and a life of service. With an impressive academic background that includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Jacksonville University, a Master of Accountancy (MaCC) from the University of North Florida, and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University, Amanda has established herself as a force in the financial world.
Since 2010, Amanda has worked at a local CPA firm in Jacksonville, FL, where she now holds ownership after taking over the business in 2018 following the unexpected passing of her business partner. Under her leadership, the firm has not only maintained its success but has grown and flourished.
“I’ve been blessed to see the business grow and succeed after such a challenging time,”
Amanda shares.
"Taking over in such circumstances was difficult, but I've been able to build on what we had and make it stronger."
Amanda’s commitment to her community doesn’t stop with her career. She actively works with children in her church, plays the organ for worship services, and enjoys quilting with her mother and sister at quilt retreats throughout the year. She also finds great joy in supporting her three nieces and nephew in their extracurricular activities at TCA, staying connected to her alma mater in meaningful ways.
When reflecting on her time at Trinity Christian Academy, Amanda acknowledges the role the school played in preparing her for both her career and life’s challenges.
“The first thing Trinity did was strengthen my testimony of Jesus Christ,”
she says.
“As I pursued my education and career, the first place I turned for guidance was my Savior. The relationships I built with my teachers and peers at TCA were foundational to my success in college and beyond.”
Amanda’s fondest memory from her time at TCA is her involvement in the school’s band program. “Band was 100% my greatest memory from TCA. I developed life-long skills and friendships,” she recalls. “One memory that stands out is our Spring Tour to New York City, where we had the opportunity to perform in front of the Statue of Liberty. That was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Her time at TCA also left a lasting impact on her spiritual life. Amanda fondly remembers starting each class with prayer, a practice that carried over into her adult life. “I didn’t realize how much I would miss that until I sat down in my first college class and thought, ‘But what about prayer?’” She adds,
“I learned to turn to Jesus in every aspect of my life, whether it’s tough decisions or things not going the way I’d planned. That foundation was reinforced at TCA.”
For those considering attending or sending their children to Trinity Christian Academy, Amanda’s message is clear:
“TCA provides a good Christian environment for children. My parents knew it was a safe place where I’d get a quality education and be surrounded by people who genuinely cared about me. Looking back, I can see that 100%, and I would recommend it to anyone.”
Amanda Bunk-Sizemore’s journey from TCA student to successful business owner and community leader is a testament to the solid foundation that Trinity Christian Academy provides its students. Her story is one of faith, perseverance, and growth—both personal and professional.
