Celebrating Our First Alumni Networking Breakfast

Gather old friends, celebrate their success, and see what might happen if we give them a reason to reconnect. That was the simple hope for our first Alumni Networking Breakfast.

Our alumni community is full of talented people, and our development team wanted to provide a space for them to continue supporting one another long after graduating from Trinity.

We were honored to host this event at our Hammond Plaza. After time spent planning, sending invitations, and creating an experience, the team was excited to see around 60 attendees come through the doors.

A Morning Built on Connection

From the moment doors opened, the energy was electric. For some, it was their first time back on campus in a while, making it especially meaningful to see how Trinity has continued to grow and evolve. They exchanged business cards and reignited old friendships while new professional relationships formed in real time.

The morning's featured speaker was Daniel Davis, TCA alumnus and president of JAX Chamber. Rather than a general keynote, Davis spoke candidly about the growth happening across Jacksonville: the plan for developing downtown, upcoming infrastructure changes, and the wave of businesses relocating to the city – all presenting a unique opportunity for local business owners living in the “right city at the right time,” he said.

Davis told the crowd that Jacksonville ranks among one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. For alumni running their own businesses, his message was clear: the timing and location couldn't be better for building something new or expanding what they've already started.

Steps to Building a Lasting Alumni Network

Within hours of the event, one alumnus in the construction industry received a call from a fellow graduate interested in hiring him for a project, a direct result of a conversation that started over breakfast. Moments like that are exactly the point of the TCA Alumni Business Network. Not just reunions, but real opportunities.

To keep that momentum going, the Trinity team is creating an alumni business directory to give graduates an easy, ongoing way to find and support one another professionally. Look for details soon on the TCA Alumni Hub and Facebook group.

Plans are already underway for the next event with a goal of bringing in even more alumni. Our team is also looking to allow for attendees to share about their businesses, industries, or areas of expertise. Beyond the professional side, we hope to keep creating ways for alumni to connect personally and find meaningful ways to stay involved with Trinity.

Free to attend and open to all graduates, our Alumni networking events will be designed as a way to give back to the Trinity community. They’re also a reminder that this school has produced a network of talented, generous, successful people who are eager to support one another.

Watching those in the room immediately start creating ways to help each other proves that something special is taking shape. There’s a genuine excitement building across our alumni network. And it’s exactly the spark we had hoped to ignite!
