What is VPK?

Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) is Florida's FREE prekindergarten program for all 4-year-olds regardless of family income. VPK gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. Children who complete a quality VPK program arrive at Kindergarten better prepared than those who do not attend a prekindergarten program. VPK is a great way for your child to experience early classroom learning in a fun, safe, and Christian environment.

Step 1 - If you do not have an existing account, create a new account in the Family Portal.

Step 2 - Complete the online VPK application and upload proof of Florida residence and child's age.

Step 3 - Register with the Early Learning Coalition to receive your certificate of eligibility.

Step 4 - Once your VPK registration is processed, you will receive an email indicating the certificate of eligibility to the VPK provider of your choice.

What is VPK at TCA like?

VPK is free for eligible children. Tuition is free with VPK voucher for 540 hours of instruction which covers the 5-day program, 8- 11:15 or the 3-day program (Wed- Fri) 8- 1:15. Wrap around care and after care services are available for students in the 5-day program for an additional fee.
